Whether you’re a lifelong Ridgeback enthusiast, a first-time owner, or simply curious about the breed, RRCEC exists to support, connect, and inspire.
Our Mission
We believe in responsible breeding practices and do not condone breeding for profit. Instead, we focus on mentorship, education, and lifelong companionship, values that define our club.
The RRCEC is proudly committed to:
- Promoting and preserving the Rhodesian Ridgeback
- Upholding the Breed Standard
- Supporting the health and welfare of both show and companion dogs
- Educating the public about this remarkable breed
Who We Are & What We Do
The majority of our members are devoted companion dog owners who cherish their Ridgebacks as part of the family. In Eastern Canada, our members come together to enjoy a wide range of activities designed to celebrate both the breed and the bond we share with our dogs.
Fun, Fellowship & Events
RRCEC hosts a variety of engaging events, including:
- Group walks & picnics
- Educational seminars
- Lure coursing, straight racing & oval racing

- October 13, 2025 – Group Walk at Guide Canins, St-Lazare
These events are designed to be inclusive, fun, and welcoming—whether you’re new to the club or a long-time member.
Supporting Performance, Sport & Versatility
We’re proud to introduce our Versatility Award initiative, recognizing Ridgebacks who excel in multiple disciplines with annual medals and certificates.
In addition to companion activities, RRCEC actively supports:
- Conformation shows & Specialty events
- Club and individual trophies for conformation, racing, and obedience
- Agility, rally obedience, scent work, tracking, and therapy dog program.

Giving Back: Supporting Breed Health
RRCEC is proud to support the Rhodesian Ridgeback Charitable Foundation (RRCF), which funds scientific research into breed health. Through member fundraising, events, and club contributions, we recently donated $988.74 toward ongoing and future research, an effort driven by our shared dedication to the breed’s long-term well-being.
